All of my responsibilities for work and school have become remote. While I'm quite happy to reduce my transportation time and costs, the workload has become a lot more muddled together. Some time is definitely being spent working with technology and receiving communication and building new habits.

I don't mind being home, though, I rather appreciate it. But I can't help but to be a little afraid that my friends, family, or I may contract this virus in the coming weeks or months. I feel for the people in Italy and China, and for the people who have lost their jobs–– and I especially feel for the medical professionals working long and dangerous hours.

I realize that it's important for us all to self-isolate, and I have been periodically made a point to check in on the people that are important to me. My greatest worry is that the rest of the world will be less successful in protecting themselves from the virus and it'll continue to grow. At the end of the day, I know that within a few months things will become under control. I'm not afraid for my life or health, nor am I afraid for the long-term impacts of the virus on the economy and society–– I simply worry that our collective reaction will prove be insufficient and the matter will be made worse than it has to be, and we'll all be stuck in this predicament much longer. 

I asked my mom if she's ever experienced anything like this and she said nothing at all. This situation is unprecedented in our time and we're in the middle of something certainly historically significant. 

To everyone: please self-isolate, now is the most dangerous time. More people carry COVID-19 without knowing it right now than 6-8 weeks from now. It's said that the virus exists no further than 2-3 connections from any one of us. We're not just in contact with the people we contact, but the people they contact, and the people those people contact, too. This virus is highly contagious, and many people carry it for up to 14 days without knowing. The risk of human contact considering these facts is far too high.
